DESCRIPTION

Aqua Salt is a liquid of amino acid amides, phosphates, and surfactants used to dissolve and inhibit precipitation of sodium chloride salt from high chloride brines. Aqua Salt eliminates salt buildup on tubular goods, meter runs, chokes, etc.

PURPOSE

Aqua Salt controls salt deposition over the wide temperature and pressure ranges encountered from the bottom of the hole to the surface in producing wells.

Aqua Salt is a unique blend which removes salt deposits by allowing treatment fluids to carry very high salt saturation, Aqua Salt enables the fresh water to break up and dissolve salt build up. It has a surfactant to de-oil the salt and allow the product to penetrate the salt block. Normally produced waters are saturated with salt for a given pressure and temperature. Where any kind of temperature and pressure drop. is encountered salt deposits start to form. Fresh water treatments alone are not always effective because a large amount of salt dissolves into the treatment before it reaches the buildup. Aqua Salt allows salt concentration up to 40%, so that even once the fresh water has picked up salt it still is effective in dissolving the deposit. Aqua Salt also chelates iron, which often accompanies salt buildup. Aqua Salt works with dispersant treatments and anionic foamers. Its foaming action will assist the well in unloading water and solids, and the surfactant "slick" the pipe further assisting in gas lift operations.

APPLICATION

Dosage requirements will vary with brine, temperature changes,solids concentration, pH and contact time. Generally, 5% by volume of fresh water is recommended for batch treatments. For continuous treatment 250-1000 ppm neat chemical should be added to the brine. High degrees of salt super-saturation and rapid or wide temperature or pressure changes require the higher levels of treatment.
