TECHNICAL DATA SCALE INHIBITOR

Scale inhibitor is effective against calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scales. It provides cost effective scale inhibition for a variety of applications including producing wells, water supply wells, water disposal wells, flowlines and surface equipment. It may be applied continuously or in scale squeeze applications.

APPLICATION

Scale Inhibitor may be applied in the acid form ot it may be applied in the neutralized form. Typically, 50% caustic or aqueous ammonia is utilized as the neutralizing agent. Field formulations are usually adjusted to a pH of 4-6 and diluted with one-to-three parts water. Scale Inhibitor, if neutralized, is compatible with most water soluble corrosion inhibitors and polyacrylates. Typical continuous treatment rates for effective scale control range from 5 to 50 PPM depending on the type and severity of the scale problem. Scale Inhibitor is thermally stable and standard monitoring techniques may be utilized with it.

HOW IT WORKS

Scale Inhibitor prevents scale by sequestering the cationic scale-forming ions and by distorting the crystalline lattice structure due to its surface active properties.
