DESCRIPTION

AirFoam 550 is a multi-purpose, air drilling foamer that foams in fresh or hard water and saturated brine water. AirFoam 550 produces large volumes of stable foam even in the presence of oil. AirFoam 550 is effective in a broad range of oil field brines up to a temperature of 350°F. AirFoam 550 is safe to handle, and has a high flash point. It does not require any hazardous shipping labels.

Chemistry

Foamers are often referred to as soap; however, the more appropriate name is surfactant, which is a shortened term meaning surface active agent. Surtactants work at the interfaces between air and water to lower the surface tension. By lowering the surface tension, the surfactant holds air bubbles in a ring of water, therefore lightening the waters weight, and enabling the pressures to effectively move the column of water. It takes a special type of surfactant to provide a stable foam, and an extended half-life. These characteristics are combined in AirFoam 550 to produce superior drilling performance. While most foamers can generally be described as an alcohol ether-sulfate, AirFoam 550 is a blend of different, complex, alcohol-ether-sulfates, and as such is highly biodegradable.

HANDLING & STORAGE

Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Do not take internally. Keep container closed when stored.

FIRST AID

Skin & Eyes - in case of contact flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes If irritation develops, call a physician.

Internal - if swallowed, induce vomiting by administering ipecac syrup or by sticking finger down throat. Repeat until vomit is clear. Call a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
