Air-Foam #1
DESCRIPTION
Air-Foam #1 is an ultra-foaming, fresh water, drilling surfactant. Air-Foam #1 tolerates salt concentrations up to 12%. It is also used to unload water from gas wells to increase gas production. Treating rates will vary depending on: (1) Water Characteristics , (2) Bottom hole pressure and gas flow rate, (3) tubing depth and size, and (4) hydrocarbon amounts. Foaming agents represent a compromise in properties. For example, materials which foam well in brines by definition may not foam well in fresh water. Air-Foam #1 is manufactured to provide ultimate fresh water performance. Air-Foam #1 is safe to handle, and has a high flash point. Air-Foam #1 does not require any hazardous shipping labels.
CHEMISTRY
Foamers are often referred to as soap; however, the more appropriate name is surfactant, which is a shortened term meaning surface active agent. Surfactants work at the interfaces between air and water to lower the surface tension. By lowering the surface tension, the surfactant holds air bubbles in a ring of water, therefore lightening the waters weight, and enabling the pressures to effectively move the column of water. It takes a special type of surfactant to provide a stable foam, and an extended half-life. These characteristics are combined in Air-Foam #1 to produce superior drilling performance. While most foamers can generally be described as an alcohol ether-sulfate, Air-Foam #1 is a blend of different, complex, alcohol-ether-sulfates, and as such Is highly biodegradable.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGES
Air-Foam #1 should be added to the water in the mist tank prior to downhole injection. Dosage rates are best determined from field tests. An optimum concentration for a specific field, drilling regimen or water influx rate should be the goal.
HANDLING AND STORAGE
Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Do not take internally. Keep container closed when stored.
FIRST AID
Skin & eyes - In case of contact, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation develops, call a physician.
Internal - If swallowed, induce vomiting by administering ipecac syrup or by sticking finger down throat. Repeat until vomit is clear. Call a physician.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
