WhAT ARE WATER SOLUBLE TUBES?

Aqua-Clear water soluble tubes are designed to dissolve in a water environment. They are used to place a variety of products into oil and gas wells. Some of the items include liquid soap for water removal, corrosion inhibitors, powdered acid to clean perforations, paraffin solvents, etc.

Liquids that contain no water can be stored for extended periods in the tubes. If the material contains water, the tubes must be filled at the well site and dropped at once, as they start dissolving as soon as they contact water.

The solubility times of the tubes in cold water are as follows:

FRESH WATER-NO AGITATION*-57 MINS

*Agitation defined as gas bubbling through the water column.

If the water in the well is hot, the solubility time is faster. If the tubes are dropped through oil, the tubes become coated and it slows down the solubility time. In this case you should allow at least a couple of extra hours to make sure the tube has dissolved and released the material inside the tube.

Aqua-Clear tubes leave no residue when they dissolve, and will not cause formation damage. The tubes should be stored in a dry environment prior to use.

• ACID STICKS: primarily used in natural gas wells to remove cabonate scale and rust deposits.
• CLEARSTICK 505: designed to unload brines and fresh water from gas wells.
• GAS STICKS: generates gas and provides agitation energy to the foaming agent in totally dead watered-up gas wells.
• OIL STICKS 21": high foaming surfactant capable of foaming in fresh or hard water, saturated brine fluids and can also produce large volumes of foam in the presence of hydrocarbons.
• SALT INHIBITOR STICKS: non-foaming product for prevention of salt precipitation build-up in well bores.
• WATER STICKS 21": high foaming surfactant capable of foaming in fresh or light brine.
